Charlotte Taylor, 72 of Little Rock, formerly of Detroit, died Monday, April 24 at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock.
Charlotte was born March 23, 1945 in Wheatley, Arkansas to Harold Swanigan Sr. and LuSylvia Smith-Swanigan. She was one of eleven children born to this union.
Charlotte was raised in Wheatley and attended the Wheatley Public School System.
As a young woman, Charlotte moved to Detroit, Michigan where she met and married Lee Andrew Taylor in April 1961. To this union nine children were born.
Charlotte was a member of Grace Temple Baptist Church in Little Rock for about a year. She was formerly a member of Willow Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan for more than 10 years, where she served as a member of the Missionary Society, Sunday School Teacher and a Bible Study Teacher. She truly enjoyed serving the Lord.
Her parents, her husband lee Andrew Taylor, a granddaughter Brandi McKeithan, six brothers: Robert Swanigan, Joe Louis Swanigan, Luscious Swanigan, Harold Swanigan Jr., Darnell Swanigan and John Swanigan all preceded Charlotte in death.
Survivors are: eight sons: Malvin (Dajuanna) Taylor and Sedrick (Michelle) Taylor both of San Diego, CA; Alaton (Barbara) Taylor of Little Rock, AR; Michael Taylor, Curtis (Tonya) Taylor, Johnny (Tiese) Taylor, Christopher (Leatha) Taylor and Vincent Taylor all of Detroit, MI; a daughter Donna Taylor of Little Rock, AR; a brother Floyd Swanigan of Little Rock, AR; three sisters: Ruth (Melvin) Malone of Hensley, AR; Josephine Nash of Jacksonville, AR; and Alisa Burack of Little Rock, AR; a son in law Derrick Hughes of Detroit, MI; 49 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
