Mae Bell Holloway, 86 of Des Arc, died Thursday, January 26 at Unity Health-White County Medical Center in Searcy.
Mae Bell was born November 6, 1930 in the Green Grove, (Hazen) Arkansas to Leon Butler and Ora Lee Ford. She was the widow of Doyle Holloway.
Mae Bell was a lifelong and faithful member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Des Arc. She was a member of the Mother Board, former member of the Usher Board, she sang in the choir and was the Treasurer of the Choir.
Mae Bell was a former employee of the Des Arc General Hospital, where she worked in Housekeeping for more than 6 years. She was also a homemaker.
Mae Bell was a lady who truly loved the outdoors. She loved gardening, raising plants and working in her yard. She enjoyed canning and watching television soap operas in her spare time. She was a very snappy dresser. She always tried to keep herself looking good whether around the house or out in the community. Her greatest past time was spending time with her family and friends.
Her parents, husband, a daughter Mary Frances Holloway; a brother Jesse Butler; three sisters: Lorine Green, Bernice Tarkington and Beatrice Miles all preceded Mae Bell in death.
Survivors are: David D. Holloway of Des Arc, AR; and Lyne C. (Shekeila) Holloway of West Helena, AR; three daughters: Annie Mae (Dorcell) Morris of Chicago, Ill; Barbara L. Holloway and Joan Scott both of Des Arc, AR; a sister Lodine Hunter of Chicago, Ill; fifteen grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren other relatives and friends.
