Marshall William Chunn

Marshall William Chunn, 63 of Searcy, died Tuesday, December 27 at White County Medical Center in Searcy.

Marshall was born August 21, 1953 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas to William Alexander Chunn and Amanda Arbor-Chunn.

Marshall received his education from the Cotton Plant Public School System. He was a 1970 graduate of Cotton Plant High School.

After graduating high school, “Dillion” as Marshall was affectionately known, went on serve in Vietnam in the United States Army for four years before being honorably discharged in 1977. While in the Army, he was a demolition specialist.

Marshall was a former employee of Des Arc Sawmill (Patterson Hardwoods) in Des Arc, Arkansas for more than 20 years.

Marshall was a man who enjoyed his life and triumphed over adversities he encountered in that life. He enjoyed his family and friends. He was a fan of NASCAR and Sports Racing. He had a great affinity for antique cars and racing cars. He enjoyed playing pool, fishing, and cooking. He had a great sense of humor and a very quick wit and loved to laugh.

His parents, a daughter Michelle Chunn; and a granddaughter Lyric Chunn all preceded Marshall in death.

Survivors are, one son Marshall Chunn Jr. of St. Louis, MO; three daughters: Chilonda Chunn of Chicago, Ill; Sherie Nash (Larry) Paledor of Aurora, CO; and Lewanda Chunn of Colorado Springs, CO; three sisters: Shirley (Ronald) Everetts of Kensett, AR; Hazel (Wooddale) Robinson of Little Rock, AR; and Laura Holland of Brinkley, AR; thirteen grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
