Robert Lee Tucker Jr.
Robert Lee Tucker Jr. 68 of Brinkley, died Wednesday April 26 at Forrest City Medical Center in Forrest City.
Robert was born June 20, 1948 in Brinkley, Arkansas to Robert Lee Tucker Sr. and Dehoma Portwood-Tucker.
“Hucka Buck” or “Huck” as Robert was affectionately known, was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Brinkley. He formerly sang in the church choir.
Robert attended the Brinkley Public School System. He was a 1967 graduate of Marian Anderson High School in Brinkley. He attended AM&N College (now University of Arkansas) in Pine Bluff for two years.
Robert worked in the construction industry for more than 35 years as a Concrete Finisher, having received his start at Deen Lumber and Concrete Company in Brinkley. He also started his own concrete finishing business with his then business partner, the late Elder Robert Butler. Together the two worked as a sub-contractors for some local (Conyears and Company Construction) and out of town (Jensen Construction Company) construction companies. He always took great pride in his work and by most standards considered himself a perfectionist. Over the years he had opportunities to travel out of state to different job sites which was something he truly enjoyed.
Robert enjoyed fishing and hunting as some of his favorite pass times. He also loved playing cards and traveling. His favorite pass time, was people. He enjoyed family and friends to the fullest. He loved sharing stories and antic dotes with anyone he met and felt comfortable with.
His parents, and a sister Phyllis Tucker all preceded Robert in death.
Survivors are: his wife of 45 years, Ruby Brisco-Tucker of Brinkley, AR; two sons: Robert Tucker III and Anthony Tucker both of North Little Rock, AR; two daughters: Sharonda (Terrence Sr.) Frances and Denise (Yemi/Allen Jay) Allen both of Little Rock, AR; a nephew and niece raised as his own: Reverend Larry (Janice) Daniels of Conway, AR; and Marie Barnett of North Little Rock, AR; three brothers: Archie Tucker, Ardell (Jackie) Tucker and Michael (Annette) Tucker all of Brinkley, AR; two sisters: Shirley Barnes and Laomi (Hollice) Harris both of Brinkley, AR; thirteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends survive him.
