Dexter Lemont Houston, 45, of Clarendon, died Tuesday, April 25 at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock.
Dexter was born June 11, 1971 in Chicago, Illinois to Susie Houston and Lawrence Vinson Sr.
Dexter attended school at the Chicago Public Schools, Detroit Public Schools and Clarendon School System. He was a 1989 graduate of Clarendon High School.
Over Dexter’s lifetime, he attended church at Union Missionary Baptist Church in Clarendon.
“Rude Dogg” or “Rudy” as Dexter was affectionately known, worked as a truck driver and was a former employee of Green Pro Ag in Humphrey, Arkansas and T&S Sawmill in Clarendon. He also formerly worked for the Clarendon Waterworks, Clarendon Public School System, Sage V Flour Mill, Delta Plastic, Lennox Industries.
His father and paternal grandparents: Dan Vinson Sr. and Ginnie V. Vinson all preceded Dexter in death.
Survivors are: his mother Susie Houston-Kinnie of Clarendon, AR; his maternal grandmother Carrie Polk of Clarendon, AR; four brothers: Lawrence Vinson Jr., Bryan Vinson, and Lyndale T. Parker all of Chicago, Ill; and Ray Bernard Wiley of Holly Grove, AR; a sister Kimberly Hodge of Chicago, Ill; uncles: Dwight Houston and Curtis Perry, both of Clarendon; AR; Otis Wiley Jr., Thomas K. Wiley, Shaffer Ramon Wiley and Dave Nolen of Detroit, MI: Alvin Vinson and Eddie Vinson both of Chicago, Ill; and Dan Vinson Jr of Holly Grove, AR; aunts: Susan M. Wiley, Bellville, MI; Evelyn Glasco Hubbard of Muskegan, MI: Faye Vinson of Atlanta, GA; and Kaye Vinson of Oakland, CA; four dear friends: Gary Henderson of Humphrey, AR; Herrod Abston III and Evelyn Hubbard both of Clarendon, AR; and Forrest Parr of Conway, AR; and a host of other relatives and friends.
