Robert Lee Tucker, Sr.
Robert Lee Tucker Sr., 91 of Brinkley, died Wednesday, March 22 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
Robert was born January 10, 1926 in Brinkley, Arkansas to Clem Tucker Sr. and Ardelia Parks-Tucker. Robert was the widower of Dehoma Portwood-Tucker.
Robert was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Brinkley. He was a faithful and dedicated member. For the last three years, he served as a member of the church’s deacon board.
Robert attended the Brinkley public school system. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in World War II, after which he was honorably discharged for that service.
Robert worker as a farmer and an employee of Bobby Robinson Farms and Seeds in Cotton Plant for more than 35 plus years before he retired.
Robert was a Mason (Inactive) and was a member of Providence Lodge #36 in Brinkley.
His parents, his wife, a daughter Phyllis Tucker, and three brothers: Patrick Tucker, Willie Tucker and Clem Tucker Jr.; three sisters: Josephine Brown, Dorothy Mae Thomas and Pearlie Mae Wynne all preceded Robert in death.
Survivors are: four sons: Robert (Ruby) Tucker Jr., Archie Tucker, Ardell (Jackie) Tucker and Michael (Annette) Tucker all of Brinkley, AR; two daughters: Shirley Barnes and Leoma (Hollice) Harris both of Brinkley, AR; his brother Eddie (Lee Vader) Tucker of Brinkley, AR; two sisters: Lula Baker and Minnie Tucker both of Brinkley, AR; three sisters in law: Emma Jean Tucker of Chicago, Ill; Maggie Tucker of Dardanelle, AR; and Thelma Tucker of Brinkley, AR; an aunt Joyce Marie Caldwell of Brinkley, AR; twenty-eight grandchildren and a host of great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
